We believe it is never too late to make new friends and discover a new hobby. Our activity program is designed to provide interaction, interest or even a comforting chat.
The home employs an activities co-ordinator to facilitate activities and outings tailored to the individual’s needs. Examples include, baking, afternoon tea parties, flower arranging, entertainers, reminiscence, pamper days, sports activities, singing & dancing, outings, pet therapy and celebrations plus many more. For residents who do not wish to participate in planned activities there are TV and radio facilities available in the lounge areas. There are also an adequate supply of books and quiet rooms available. The village of Knottend offers a variety of shops, caffes, pubs, churches, and library all within easy access of St Albans Nursing Home.

“I could not recommend Orchard Manor highly enough, the nursing staff on Willow are superb, as are the very attentive care staff and supervision. The activities team keep residents busy with various activities which change on a weekly basis, posted on the wall to the entrance to Willow unit. It’s coming up to 18 months now that my wife has been at Orchard Manor, and from the very first time I visited to view I knew it was “the place” I wanted my wife to live. It really is a fantastic care home, with excellent staff across the board, from management to the maintenance team to the gardeners”
